BookLoop is operated by Murat Okal, who is responsible for your personal information. You can reach us at res4cs@gmail.com.
This website
This website has no accounts, forms, advertising, or analytics tracking. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
Account and email
We use your verified email address and account ID to sign you in, provide support, and prevent abuse. They are never shown to other readers and are kept while your account is active.
Profile
Your display name, avatar, and city help other readers recognise who they are exchanging with. They are kept until you change them or your account is deleted or anonymised.
Location
If you enable location, your exact coordinates are used only to calculate which books are nearby. They are never shown to anyone. Other readers see only an approximate distance or area. Coordinates are deleted when you turn location off or delete your account.
Listings and photos
Book details and photos are visible to people browsing active listings. They are kept until you remove the listing, except where they are needed as evidence in an open dispute.
Messages
Messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, and to an admin when needed to resolve a report or dispute. A fixed retention period will be published here before the beta opens.
Exchange and BookPoints records
Loans, transfers, and BookPoints history are kept to protect the integrity of exchanges, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. After account deletion, these records are kept only in a form that no longer identifies you, where possible.
Service providers
The app runs on Supabase, which stores data on our behalf. We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or object to how it is used. Email res4cs@gmail.com from your account email address. We will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
